Eugene Louis Hayman Jr. (1954-present) was born in Houston, Texas, to parents who loved and taught music. When he was 12, his family moved to Austin, Texas, where his father attended the University of Texas and his mother worked to maintain their home. The family returned to the Houston area in 1969. In his teenage years, Hayman practiced and taught gymnastics. As an adult, he studied a style of traditional Southern Chinese Kung Fu called Wing Chun. Hayman married his high school sweetheart in 1977. In 1988, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Houston, Clear Lake. Hayman’s first book, “Where Madmen Rule,” won the Dirty Little Bookers “Calling All Indies” award in 2015.
